FLITE to Freedom Art Gallery by Ayush Saha

For my third show with FLITE, I began to incorporate more artwork that represents my perspectives as a college student. With vibrant brushstrokes and poignant symbolism, my artworks depict the intellectual curiosity, personal growth, and emotional landscapes encountered during this transformative period of my life. Each piece invites viewers to relive their own college experiences and embark on a shared exploration of self-discovery.

The Filmore Art Exhibition by Ayush Saha

Taking place just North of Washington, DC, this was my first art exhibition outside of Texas. I displayed and sold photography, paintings, and sketches with other local artists from the DMV. Vendors from the area set up shop to sell goods, and various dance groups representing the BLM movement also performed.

Taking place during the middle of the pandemic, this gallery served the same purpose as previous shows. Despite not being able to attend in person, I was able to display three paintings as part of this show.

The strength of self-esteem. The power of expression. The beauty of love.

The freedom to magnify all three is FLITE’s mantra, its spirit, its dream. The dream was born from the Founders’ beliefs that everyone has unique gifts and talents. For many individuals, however, life’s experiences can be immensely painful and restricting.

Like a butterfly, a person’s creative talents are waiting to emerge from a cocoon, to be nurtured.

When an artist’s potential is allowed to develop and mature, they then possess the power to reach beyond themselves, to cross any border, to be understood in any language. They can then truly touch the lives of others.

Festival of Illustrated Literature by Ayush Saha

Also known as F.O.I.L., this is an art and literature based non-profit organization that I founded. At our annual event, a student writer is paired with a student artist who then go on to create an art-writing duo with an underlying theme. In two years, my team of over thirty students and I have been able to raise over $8,000 dollars through annual events. Every cent raised has been donated to various charities such as Children’s Health and Boys & Girls Club of America.
